must be willing to travel to other offices from time to time

More about the role:
DMA Law is looking for a Fee Earner to join our busy Family Department. The successful
applicant may be either a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, Law Graduate (training to be
provided), or a Paralegal with experience in family law.
Responsibilities will include:
• Maintaining a case load of up to 80 to 100 files dealing with domestic abuse and
Children Act cases, both privately funded and Legal Aid
• Using the Legal Aid Portal
• Attending court and, where appropriate, conducting your own advocacy
• Attending clinics with local refuges to meet with service users and provide advice
• Providing exceptional levels of service
• Being sensitive and compassionate to clients
• Utilising secretarial support to ensure fee earning is maximised
Desirable skills and Experience:
• Experience in legally-aided and privately-funded family matters, or a willingness to
learn
• All round experience of drafting and producing legal documents, or a willingness to
learn
• Possession of good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
• Ability to create and administer day to day work efficiently and effectively
• Possession of a good level of computer literacy and the ability to use bespoke
computer systems
