I started work at The Giles Hunter Partnership in 1998 having left school and working towards an NVQ level 3 in Business Administration. My role was in the accounts department completing various administration tasks. I gained my NVQ 3 qualification in 1999 and was given the role of accounts assistant. I continued in the role for several years but eventually left the firm to raise my two children.
I returned to the firm in 2016 as secretary to Mr Hunter. Later that year the firm amalgamated with DMA Law and I stepped into the role of Office Manager for the Consett Office. As Office Manager I was involved in the refurbishment of the new office in Middle Street and helped build good working relationships with other local businesses.
In 2019 I started to train in the life department initially dealing with basic Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney. I developed within the department and have had my own case load since 2020. I deal with all aspects of cases including Probate, Court of Protection, Asset Protection Wills and administration of estates. I find my role within the department very rewarding and I intend to continue for many years to come.
