This role is ideal for someone with previous legal secretary or administrative experience, particularly within a family law or childcare law setting, although training will be provided for the right candidate. Job Details:
- Location: Sunderland office (flexible working options available)
- Salary: Dependent on experience
- Hours: Four days per week, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (one-hour lunch break, total 28 hours per week)
- Job Type: Part-time
- Basis: Permanent
- Start Date: ASAP
About the Role:
The Legal Secretary will provide essential administrative support to all members of the Childcare Law team to ensure the department runs efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling new enquiries
- Booking appointments and managing Fee Earner diaries
- Opening new files while ensuring compliance standards are met
- Drafting forms under supervision
- Preparing letters using standard templates
- Transcription of dictation
- Making and receiving telephone calls on behalf of the team
- Conducting searches
- Creating bills and assisting Fee Earners with preparing bills for costing with the Law Costs Draftsman
- Processing payments (both making and receiving)
- Managing incoming and outgoing post
- Filing and general administrative tasks
